Welcome to the first paid edition of Travel is More Than Just Visiting Places. Each edition of this newsletter will vary a bit but I am kicking it off with a brief guide to Buenos Aires Argentina.

These guides are more like quick trip diaries and they will evolve and might bounce around the world with rhyme or reason to keep things interesting but they will be the focus of the paid version for now.

I visited Buenos Aires before the pandemic and so things are different and I’ve edited accordingly. But I plan to check on these locations periodically and update the guides with more information when I revisit locations or learn about openings and closures.

Without further ado, let’s dive into Buenos Aires, Argentina!

EAT

My favourite restaurants or memorable meals and snacks from Buenos Aires are…

San Telmo Market - This is a market with everything! We bought some churros here, shopped for things (I bought a poncho, a candle, and perfume, all locally made), and stopped for a beer. We enjoyed this market, you can buy almost anything. I had fun looking through all of the antique stalls and bought some cute lapel pins here as well, two for me and one for a friend. This market is pretty famous for shopping and for its food stalls - and it is indoors. We had a bit of extra time to kill while shopping here before going to the Casa Rosada and enjoyed the beer at a stall where the cook was singing and dancing along to everything on the radio and it was a lively and fun atmosphere.
