Super interesting newsletter!

A few thoughts:

the middle seat situation: won't work because there are always many people like myself who fly standby and will end up in this middle seat (how I travelled back from London to Toronto during the busy summer season).

Also, I find that often people travel without really appreciating what is going on in the country or city they are visiting so thank you for talking about Peru. Folks should keep in mind that there are individuals from various Central & South American countries including Peru, Nicaragua and Chile who seek refugee protection in Canada based on what is going on over there. Often we just see a place as a nice vacation spot/ a surfing paradise (which they can be but there's more to the story). My two cents.

Thanks Julie! For reading and for your comments. :) I agree with you on the middle seat thing. It's fair to gamble and get the whole row to yourself on occasion or 2 out of 3 seats.

It is nice to know a little bit about your travel destination or vacation spot. I'm not asking for someone to have a political science degree's worth of knowledge on a destination. However, the way some people talk about what is going on in other countries when they deem them dangerous or unsafe makes me think they think they are an expert on the destination sometimes. :P

I like to stay aware by following the news and reading a fiction or nonfiction book about a destination if I can, before going there. Sometimes books inspire my trips too, both fiction and non-fiction. I also really enjoy walking or hiking tours led by locals because the individual stories and opportunities to ask questions gives each trip an unique memory and perspective.
