I second Aoife’s comment about the format. The interview style was fun and answered a lot of questions I had. I went to Venezuela once as a kid but other than that haven’t spent any time in South America. I would love to and I know for my husband it is a must do.
Wow. You're the possibly the only person I know who has been to Venezuela other than people who have left the country and grew up there. Do you remember anything about the experience?
I am so glad that you enjoyed the format, I will keep that in mind for future issues. ANd let me know if you want any recommendations within South America - another place I'd love to return.
I honestly don’t remember a ton because I was like 8 or something like that. I met someone in graduate school from Venezuela who later became one of my dearest friends—the one who I mentioned in your newsletter about Copenhagen actually—and she says the same thing that she can’t believe I was ever there.
When we make that trip, I will for sure be reaching out.
Good stuff as always, Sonya! The food talk has me hungry... sounds so good to visit a coffee farm. Those destinations look gorgeous, I'm happy your friend shared with us!
I have a copy of Lonesome Dove laying around somewhere, maybe I should crack it open. I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip!
I am glad you enjoyed the recs and food talk! I have also visited a coffee farm and can second Julie's recommendation. I visited one in Tanzania and will make sure to write about that sometime in the near future since Kilimanjaro was not the only thing I did on the African continent.
Crack open that Lonesome Dove! I'll bring mine and hopefully that keeps me occupied for the entire trip.

I really liked this format, Sonya! The book recommendations are also so welcomed and I’m excited to dig in to Greenwood. Happy travels xx
